NEDBANK LESOTHO held its first-ever market day at Maseru Mall yesterday, drawing attention to a broad selection of its new services designed to keep pace with customers’ changing needs.

Attendees were introduced to a variety of offerings, including e-commerce solutions, payment platforms for businesses of all sizes, solar energy financing, and both home and vehicle loan options.

Mathabela Tšephe, Manager of Asset-Based Finance and Home Loans at Nedbank, described the event as a comprehensive one-stop shop for vehicle, home, and solar financing, as well as digital payments and marketplace solutions.

He emphasized the bank’s commitment to connecting directly with customers to raise awareness of these products.

Highlighting Nedbank’s new point-of-sale (POS) solution, Mr Tšephe explained, “We’ve introduced a contactless mobile POS system that transforms a smartphone or tablet into a secure payment device using chip and PIN technology.”

He added: “This is ideal for businesses with monthly turnovers up to M50,000. With this affordable solution, clients can accept payments by simply tapping cards on a NFC-enabled device, with the device now available at a reduced once-off cost of M500.”

Lipalesa Mpemi, Marketing Manager at Nedbank, added that their e-commerce packages were built to empower business owners.

“Our solutions range from the Nedbank Lite package, which lets you easily accept card payments through your website’s checkout system, to the Nedbank Enterprise package, where you can fully customize your e-commerce payment experience,” she said.

Ms Mpemi encouraged entrepreneurs across sectors—from consultants to agribusiness owners—to consider e-commerce as a way to expand their reach and grow their revenue.

“Setting up an online store not only gives your business a competitive advantage but also helps you invest in future growth,” Ms Mpemi said.
