Tiny Tots cleared of malpractice allegations

TINY Tots International School has been cleared of alleged examination malpractice by the Examination Council of Lesotho (ECoL), paving the way for the release of its previously withheld results.

The school’s International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) results, which had been withheld pending investigations, have since been released following a thorough probe by ECoL.

The IGCSE is an internationally recognised qualification awarded to high school-leaving students.

Speaking to the Sunday Express on Friday, ECoL Director Ntaeboso Phenduka, said the investigation found no evidence of malpractice at the school. Instead, he said, the allegations stemmed from misinformation circulated by a whistleblower.

“Our investigations have shown that there was no malpractice at all, but rather misinformation by a whistleblower,” Mr Phenduka said.

He explained that the United Kingdom-based Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) had suspended the school’s final-year examination results while investigations were underway. The decision caused distress among affected students and parents, particularly as results from other schools that sat the same examinations were released on Friday morning.

However, following clearance from Cambridge, the results have now been released, allowing Tiny Tots students to access their grades.

A deputy principal at Tiny Tots, Raymond Mutale, was approached for comment but he declined to talk to this paper.
