MASERU — Nedbank Lesotho on Friday launched the Nedbank Airtime, a new product that allows its clients to buy airtime via the Automatic Teller Machines (ATM).
Through the new product, Nedbank clients who have subscribed with Vodacom Lesotho and Econet Telecom Lesotho mobile phone networks can now buy airtime without to go to the shops, Nedbank Lesotho marketing manager, ‘Mampine Sekota, said.
“Nedbank is working with Econet and Vodacom on providing clients with a quick and easy way of purchasing real-time prepaid airtime directly to their phones,” Sekota said.
“Nedbank Lesotho now offers an easy way to purchase airtime without having to go to the shops or using prepaid vouchers that need you to load long digits to recharge.
“You can also top-up airtime for your family member or friend — all you need is your ATM card and a cell phone number, thanks to the bank that makes things happen,” says a Nedbank Lesotho guide book.
To buy airtime through a Nedbank Lesotho ATM, after inserting the card and the personal pin number, under the selection list, one chooses the prepaid option.
You then enter your eight-digit mobile number, select your network service provider (Vodacom Lesotho or Econet Telecom Lesotho).
The ATM then gives you an option to select the value of the airtime needed. You are also allowed to enter your own amount. After confirming the transaction, your airtime is sent straight to your phone.
The transaction may not be successful if the client does not have sufficient funds in their accounts, when the machine is unable to process the transaction due to various technical complications, and when the service provider or airtime is not available.
