MASERU — A local music company owned by musician, Dunamis, is set to release a mix-tape and DVD featuring artistes under the KOL Music Production label.
The mix-tape is set to have 18 tracks and 12 music videos for the DVD.
“The mix-tape is called The Take-Over 2 and features Ghetto Ice, Black Ink, KI and myself,” Dunamis, told the Xpress People this week.
“This is the second mix-tape we have produced after the one which won the South African Music Award in 2008,” he said.
Dunamis, who is the director of operations at KOL Music Productions, said they are also working on a DVD featuring music videos by artistes under their label.
He said the projects are meant to expose artistes registered with the label.
“We have a lot of artistes claiming to be KOL artistes so with the mix-tape people are going to see which artistes belong to the KOL family,” he said.
“Both the mix-tape and the DVD are set to be released at the end of November and hopefully launched sometime in December when most people are on holiday,” he said.
He said the mix-tape will see all KOL artistes collaborating on different songs.
“We are showing people that we are not in competition with each other but rather we support individual growth and that of the company,” Dumanis said.
“We have brought creativity and promise fireworks during the summer season,” he said.
He said the videos are going to give the artistes opportunities to break into the South African music industry.
“They are going to be promoted both in the country and in South Africa,” Dunamis said.
“We have released singles for each artiste and they are already receiving massive airplay on local radio stations.”
“The mix-tape and the DVD are merely going to show our relationship as KOL artistes, our consistency and growth in the music industry.”
