MALUTI Mountain Brewery (MMB) has rewarded its loyal customers— mainly bars and taverns—through its Ngatafatso Campaign.
As part of the campaign, bars and taverns across the country were given monthly sales targets to qualify for lucrative prizes at the end of the competition. The campaign ran from July to November 2024, culminating in an awards ceremony held at Victory Hall in Maseru on Friday.
Easy Way Public Bar from Butha-Buthe emerged as the biggest winner in the gold category, walking away with the grand prize—a brand-new Nissan NP200.
An elated bar owner, ‘Masekonyela Molefi, expressed her gratitude to MMB for supporting and uplifting its customers.
“I don’t have enough words to express my happiness—this is amazing!” Ms Molefi said.
She admitted that she was initially hesitant to participate, doubting her chances of winning. However, MMB sales representatives encouraged her to enter.
“I used to think competitions like these were meant for ‘rich’ people, so I wasn’t interested in joining. But the MMB sales team convinced me to sign up,” she said.
She added that the new car would be a valuable asset to her business, especially since her previous vehicle, used for stock deliveries, was in poor condition.
MMB Head of Sales, Pokane Makoaba, said the campaign was designed to motivate businesses to boost their sales by meeting their assigned targets.
“The participating outlets had different targets based on factors like their size, previous sales history, and geographical location,” Mr Makoaba explained.
“This initiative encourages our customers to aim high and reach their goals. In the process, it also helps MMB increase its own sales. The more they buy, the more discounts they receive.”
A total of 277 outlets across the country participated in the competition, and Mr Makoaba said MMB was pleased with the enthusiastic response.
In the taverns’ bronze category, Limpho Tavern claimed the top spot, while Thabang Lekoantlana Public Bar won in the bars’ bronze category.
For the silver category, Boitseko Tavern emerged as the tavern winner, while Come and See Public Bar secured the title in the bars’ category.
Each of the winners received a fully stocked double-door fridge as their prize.
