AVANI Maseru on Friday hosted a Back2School bash which attracted a huge audience and was as hilarious as it was entertaining.
Organisers of the show provided a classroom set-up with desks for the ‘students’ to sit on, while the food on offer such as chicken-feet, pork trotters, and homemade bread, also reminded the ‘learners’ of their schooldays when the budget was tight.
The school regalia and satchels completed the student-look, but most of the ‘students’ looked funny as they have since outgrown their uniforms.
DJ Tseko and Counter Force made sure they gave out the best of old-school classics that the ‘students’ used to jam at school, creating a festive occasion befitting of such an event and at such a classy venue.
AVANI also gave out a number of prizes which included lunch, dinner and a night’s stay, at the hotel.
Speaking to XpressPeople on the sidelines of the event, AVANI Lesotho Hotels Marketing Manager, Tim Thabisi, said they were not expecting such a huge turnout.
“We were not expecting to have these many people here because this year, we are competing with a number of back-to-school events happening around the country,” Thabisi said.
“The tickets were also being bought at a slow rate; it was only yesterday and this morning that people started buying them at a higher rate.
“We are pleased so far and this proves that our Back2School has cemented itself as a must-attend show on the entertainment calendar.”
Revellers danced till the early hours of Saturday, reluctantly leaving at around 2am when the curtains rolled down on a remarkable event.
