Vitality Health, a provider of first-aid services, has equipped the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) Air Wing with?first aid training and?medical emergency supplies worth M20,000.

Six soldiers who completed the basic first-aid?training?course received their?certificates during the handover ceremony on Friday at Mejametalana Air Base in Maseru.

Since 2021, Vitality Health and the LDF have been partners in saving lives. The Vitality Health Executive Director, Semethe Raleche, highlighted the collaboration’s impact on providing medical care to critical patients in remote areas.

“This collaboration has enabled critical patients in remote areas to receive prompt medical care, significantly impacting lives since its inception. Pregnant women, victims of hazardous gases, car accident victims, and the elderly have all benefited from this life-saving partnership,” Mr Raleche stated.

“This noble vision is one we cannot fulfill alone. When we sought assistance for this crucial endeavour, the Lesotho Defence Force answered our call. Not only did you open your doors, but you also made it possible to save lives in urgent need of medical attention in remote areas.

“The LDF Air Wing support has been instrumental in reaching those who otherwise would have been beyond our reach. Together, we have overcome the challenges posed by the rugged terrain of our country, ensuring that critical patients receive timely lifesaving medical intervention. The lives saved through this collaboration are a testament to what we can achieve when we work together. The impact of our joint efforts is immeasurable as we continue to break barriers and extend our reach to the farthest corners of our nation.”

Mr Raleche said?it was?the importance of emergency preparedness, which motivated Vitality Health to support the LDF with training and first-aid kits.

“Recognising the importance of emergency preparedness, Vitality Health has decided to further support the LDF by providing first-aid training, first-aid kits, and emergency medication valued at M20 000. The initiative aims to enhance the LDF’s capacity to respond to emergencies effectively,” Mr Raleche added.

Mr Raleche also noted that the partnership demonstrates the dedication of both organisations to improving emergency medical services.

“The partnership exemplifies the dedication of both Vitality Health and the LDF to improving emergency medical services and ensuring that critical patients receive the care they need, regardless of their location. Together, we continue to make strides in enhancing the well-being of the community.”

The Air Wing Commander, Brigadier Daemane Michael Matamane, expressed his gratitude to Vitality Health for their support.

“We are grateful to Vitality Health for the training, first-aid kits, and emergency medication. We are proud to have our soldiers equipped with these skills, and we hope Vitality Health will continue their support,” Brig Matamane said.
