Show to raise funds for orphans

DANCE troupe, Team Dytz, will host a charity show at Mabathoana High School Hall on 25 June 2016 to raise funds for an orphanage in Lithabaneng.

According to Team Dytz member Bokang Monyaka, children living in orphanages were vulnerable to the elements during winter because of the high cost of heating.

“Winter is a season in which everyone needs more clothes and the orphanages don’t have the resources to provide enough clothes to keep all of them warm,” he told Xpress People this past week.

Team Dytz, Monyaka said, consisted of dancers from different parts of Maseru, adding that they identified the orphanage which was most in need.

“We actually started the initiative in 2014 with an orphanage in Maseru East and had planned to make it an annual event. However, we lost momentum last year because of limited funds,” he said.

“We then spent the whole of last year raising funds through various events both in Lesotho and South Africa.”

The charity show will boast a star studded list of performers such as South Africa’s Rapstar IV and MegaFK alongside the locals like Prime Zeik, Taren Folae, Nirex, Blak Ink, Kot Inferno, 3play, Fatal Verb, Kopano, Rhythm Child, Krayd Mind, Add November, Kaytee Fr3sh, Thee Climax, Heaart Breakers, Matsill and Team Dytz.

Monyaka appealed to well-wishers to support the initiative so that it could assist more orphanages.

“We appeal to well-wishers, especially the youth, to realise that there are children in need out there whom they can help by donating the little they have and also visiting them on a regular basis to have fun together,” he said.
