LETSHEGO Financial Services says its growth over the years has been driven by the continued support of Basotho, as demonstrated by the reopening of its upgraded Leribe branch on Friday.
Speaking at the occasion, the company’s Chief Operations Officer, Bright Pita, said the branch, established in 2015, had grown from a small office into fully fledged premises designed to improve service delivery and enhance the customer experience.
He said the upgraded facility comprised several offices and ablution facilities, providing customers with a more spacious and comfortable environment in which to access services under one roof.
Mr Pita expressed appreciation to Basotho for their continued support, saying the company’s growth had enabled it to give back to communities, particularly through employment creation.
“We established Letshego here in Leribe in 2015 and the growth has been remarkable. We began operating in such a small, dingy office which offered very little comfort to our clients.
“We therefore take pride in today's milestone of this newly constructed office. The branch is spacious enough to accommodate our clients while comfortably providing them with services. They would indeed feel at home,” he said.
Mr Pita said the reopening was a reflection of the growth achieved through the support of the local community.
He said the company had established strong working relationships with the Linare community, making the presence of local stakeholders at the event particularly significant.
He added that the attendance of representatives from institutions of higher learning and traditional leaders demonstrated the value of these relationships.
“Our main goal is to impact positively on livelihoods and we have grown from strength to strength through the advocacy of the people within our midst today.
“We therefore wish to maintain that goal through our continued provision of access to finance,” he said.
Meanwhile, Letshego Leribe Branch Manager, ’Matlotliso Molefi, highlighted the expanded range of services now available to customers, including savings and investment products.
She said Letshego had received approval to expand beyond credit services and offer customers more investment opportunities.
“As you may recall, Letshego has been approved to offer more than credit financial services, but has now expanded investment opportunities to our clients.
“We were the first microfinance institution in the country to be given recognition for providing such services, demonstrating a relentless commitment to providing the best financial services.
“Over the years, we have transformed our services to suit the demands of our clients and offer products that assist our customers to become financially sustainable,” she said.
At the same event, Letshego launched this year's Letsgo Borrow, Save and Win campaign, rewarding four customers with prizes that included a M20 000 cash prize, grocery vouchers and a smartphone.
