TOP Lesotho marathoner, Khoarahlane Seutloali, will line up this morning at the 2026 OUTsurance Gun Run Half Marathon in Cape Town, South Africa, hoping to successfully defend his title.
Seutloali returns to the race as the defending champion after winning last year’s edition in a time of 1:02:27, a performance that also set a new course record.
Ahead of this morning’s race, Seutloali told the?Sunday Express?that he was in good condition and ready to reproduce last year’s impressive performance.
“All is well and the preparations have been going well for this race,” Seutloali said.
“Yes, I want to do well and defend the title.”
The runner said the race forms part of his preparations for longer-distance, 42km races.
“I am currently in the middle of a 42km race training programme, thus the half marathon will help me in that regard.”
Seutloali is expected to face a strong challenge from South African Adam Lipschitz, who will be targeting the Lesotho runner’s course record of 1:02:27.
The race will also feature 2024 champion, Lloyd Bosman, who will be hoping to reclaim the title.
Seutloali has established himself as one of Lesotho’s leading distance runners. The athlete, whose half-marathon personal best stands at 1:01:58, also recorded one of the biggest achievements of his career last year when he won South Africa’s prestigious Two Oceans Ultra Marathon in a time of 3:10:47.
