RHYTHM City, actor, Mduduzi “Suffocate” Mabaso, is billed to grace Maseru on Saturday alongside Lesedi FM presenter, Lerato “DJ Lovers” Mpopo.

Rhythm City is a South African soapie that is screen on Etv’s prime time.

The two will be in the Mountain Kingdom for the Centre of Accounting Studies (CAS) Fresher’s Ball scheduled for Saturday.

The event is organised by Solo Promotions and will be celebrated with two events.

Solo Promotions said the duo would participate in the two events that have been lined up for the celebrations.

In the morning, the duo will be part of the adjudication panel at a beauty pageant scheduled for Victoria Hotel where Mr and Miss CAS 2018 will be crowned.

The after party will kick-off in the evening at Kingdom Lounge, at the Maseru Mall where patrons will get a chance to mingle with the South African stars.

A contingent of local artistes who are scheduled to perform at the event include DJs Tseko, Daverts, Gama, Trybz, NINE24, Konsept, Afro, Vesta and Beats. Juvy, Mega Hertz, L-Tore and Jiji F are also line-up to perform at the event.

Suffocate will be a Master of Ceremonies on the night alongside Mavele while DJ Lovers will be behind the decks.

Speaking to Xpress People recently, Solomon “Solo” Lefoka of Solo Promotions said they had chosen the two South African due to their popularity.

“The fresher’s ball is all about welcoming the first-year students to the institution so we are doing it differently this year by first crowning the institution’s ambassadors before actually engaging in the welcome party,” Solo said.

“We gave the students a list of five South African celebrities and asked the students to vote for their favourite and Suffocate and DJ Lovers topped the list. They will serve as part of the judging panel at the pageant and also do the honours of handing over the prizes to the winners while at the party Suffocate will be one of the MCs and DJ Lovers will join the rest of the DJs on the decks.

“We are proud of local talent and how local artistes have fared so we engaged 10 of the best artistes to perform at the event. The DJs will cater for a diverse audience whose musical tastes are also diverse. We also selected rappers whose music is trending at the moment,” Solo said.
