THE A Division is set to resume on Saturday with second round matches in both Southern and Northern streams.

A Division Management Committee (Admaco) public relations’ officer, Mothusi Letsie, told the Sunday Express that prior to the resumption of the league, they will hold a meeting with the clubs at Bambatha Tšita Sports Arena to review the first round.

“We want to know where we went wrong as the league, what needs to be fixed as well as our success in the first round,” Letsie said, adding, “It is always good to map a way forward together with our teams sharing ideas that can take our football to another level”.

Despite running without a sponsorship, Letsie said they were pleased that the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) has once again committed itself towards sponsoring the A Division Top 8 competition as well as the Champion of Champions which is contested by the two teams that would have won automatic promotion to the Econet Premier League.

Letsie said they anticipated an exciting second round that would be free from controversy.

Mazenod side, Swallows top the Southern Stream log with their only loss in 10 games coming at the hands of Lijabatho.

On the other hand, Ketane top the Northern Stream ahead of Litšilo and Galaxy.

“The Northern Stream was very competitive at the time we went for the break and it is anybody’s game as far as promotion is concerned as Ketane, Litšilo and Galaxy are separated by a few points.”

The relegation battle will also be heated affair as several teams are currently separated by a few points.

A similar situation is obtaining in the Southern Stream where Swallows lost ground after having enjoyed a healthy lead.

“The Southern Stream was also starting to open up before the break as Swallows lost their first game and the gap between them and second placed team was reduced. Competition will also be tough at the bottom with big teams like Rovers, Qoaling Highlanders and others.

“We are looking forward to our teams returning to action and providing us with a competitive football again. It has really been exciting and you cannot predict what will happen because football is a game of surprises.”

Letsie said one of the challenges in the first round was when some of their games had to be postponed to accommodate the top flight teams especially at the Maputsoe DIFA Ground.

He said they met with all stakeholders and are hopeful that they would not encounter any problems in the second round.
