ENTERTAINMENT outfit, Bombshell Kreationz, has lined up a Hip Hop event set to give prominence to local rappers by offering them 30 minutes performance slots each.

Dubbed ‘Made in Lesotho’ (MIL), the event will see 24 local rappers perform for 720 minutes at the Smart Village near ‘Manthabiseng Convention Centre on 2 December this year.

Some of the artistes billed to perform are L-Tore, Nirex, OG S’Killz, T Mech, Jiji F, Kot Inferno, Kislev, Blaze Shatta Queen, Yemba Shungu, Boshoa Bot?oere, Juvy, Skebz D, 3rd Code, Driggermansion, Kaytee Fresh, Sthola, Maths Mr November Lipalo, SirNic, Fickzo Lovention, 9Ten, 8th Planet, Urban Slayers Crew and 2Ball. DJs Trybz, NINE24 and Xtee will hold it down behind the booth.

Speaking to Xpress People recently, Bombshell Kreationz founder, Kekeletso Ntoi, said the aim was to enable local rappers to promote their craft.

“We have a lot of Hip Hop talent in the country which is only appreciated through one major award and a musical competition which artistes have to invest money in order to win,” Ntoi said.

“We feel that is not enough and artistes need mentorship and connections which will enable them to broaden their musical scope to other countries.

“We have brought on board record companies and promoters from South Africa and Swaziland.

“The idea is to give each act 30 minutes to sell their craft to these music gurus present to scout for local talent.”

Ntoi further said they would follow up on the artistes and assist them through mentorship to improve the quality of their work as well as in the distribution of their music to other countries and to get airplay on prominent African channels.

He said they would have different line-ups for different editions, adding they were looking for artistes “who are serious about their work”.

“MIL is intended to run for the next five years and by the time we host next year’s edition we would like to see the ones that will perform this year having made progress in their careers by securing them better platforms in neighbouring countries.”

MIL further supports students of fashion, media, event management, marketing, information technology and entrepreneurship.

The current focus is on Limkokwing University of Creative Technology students who are involved in the preparations for the December show as interns.
