BANTU defending duo of Bokang Sello and Tsietsi Khooa will travel to South Africa this week where they are expected to conclude their deal with the Premier Soccer League side Chippa United, Sunday Express can reveal.

According to source inside the team the duo has already agreed on terms with Chippa and are expected to join the rest of the team when they re-open for the preseason on the 19th September.

“The two players have agreed on terms with Chippa and they will be travelling to South Africa where they will meet with the rest of the squad as they start for the offseason.

“What is now left is for Chippa to write to Bantu and maybe begin with the negotiations of the two players,” said the source.

Chippa coach Lehlohonolo Seema could not confirm the news and said he was yet to meet with Chippa chairman and decide on the way forward.

“I am still in Bloemfontein for now and I am yet to meet with the chairman of the team to decide on which players we are releasing before we can start signing new players. Before we sign new players, we will have to create space,” said Seema.

Seema further added that he will if need be sign players from Lesotho to strengthen his team.

“I have always been saying it that if need be, I can sign players from Lesotho but what I won’t do is to just sign players who are not going to play here. I want players who I know they can do the work,” he said.

For his part, Bantu President Leuta John Leuta said they were yet to receive any communication from Chippa but said there were other South African teams that have shown interest in Bantu players.

“Chippa are yet to communicate with us but we have received some offers from South African teams for other players,” Leuta said.

He however, said the club would not stand in the way of any of their players should they get good offers.

“Bantu has always made it clear that if our players want to go for greener pastures, we won’t stand in their way. We only want the processes to be handled in the proper way. Any team that wants to sign our players must know the procedure.”

Sello joined Bantu at the start of 2018/19 season from their bitter rivals Lioli while Khooa joined the Mafeteng based outfit at the start of the 2016/17 and has been a pillar in their defence leading the team to three premier league titles.
