Koloti back to revive career

RABOAMA ‘Masaena’ Koloti needed only 90 minutes to remind Lesotho football what it had been missing.
The attacker, who spent most of last season frozen out at LMPS, scored twice on his first start for Limkokwing University against Manonyane on Tuesday, and walked off with the Man of the Match award.
Koloti joined Limkokwing late in the recent transfer window on a one-year loan from LMPS.
The former Sandawana FC striker was largely confined to the sidelines last season following an alleged breakdown in his relationship with LMPS management. The fallout is said to have followed a failed attempt to leave the club, a move reportedly prompted by a lack of support while he was recovering from a knee injury.
He had been expected to force his way back into the LMPS squad this season, having trained with the side throughout pre-season, only to be loaned out instead.
Speaking to the Sunday Express on Friday, Koloti said he was relishing the chance to do what he loves most.
“I am very happy with how I have started my stint with LU, having scored two goals in my first 90 minutes.
“One can tell from a distance how happy I am. I am new to the team, and I know many people have been eager to see me back on the pitch. What I can say is that I am back.”
He was quick to add, however, that a season without competitive football has left him short of his best.
“I cannot be naïve and say I am at my peak. If this is my first 90 minutes, that only tells you that I am a bit behind, but I hope I will get there as time goes on,” he said.
Koloti said he intended to repay Limkokwing in goals.
“What I want to do is use the opportunity and score goals whenever I am given the chance to play,” he said.
After four matches, Limkokwing sit eighth with five points from one win, two draws and a defeat – a modest return that makes Koloti’s sharpness in front of goal all the more valuable to them.
