MASERU — Premier League outfit Likhopo has vowed to win the Premier league Top 8 competition in honour of its late founder, owner and coach Bishop Molatoli, who passed away after a brief illness this week.
Likhopo acting coach, Tšeliso Mofolo told the Sunday Express yesterday they would start by winning their first leg quarter finals encounter against LCS this afternoon before the two sides clash for the second leg next week Saturday.
“We have to win tomorrow’s (today) encounter to get into the second leg comfortably, especially because it will be our home match,” Mofolo said.
He said the team had prepared very well for the match, adding that the executive committee had a word with the players earlier this week to encourage them to get through the “. . . misery of losing a father figure”.
“The team have prepared well for the match the players spirits are high following the short meeting they had with the executive committee to see them through this difficult time,” Mofolo said.
Mofolo said he was satisfied with the commitment displayed by the players at training and he was confident they were going to outplay their opponents.
Meanwhile, LCS communication and marketing manager, Kofa Rantai said they would turn the tide against a recent spate of poor performance they had been displaying in premier league matches by beating today’s opponents.
He said his team had been struggling to score goals but said that the technical team had been giving a lot of attention to the striking department hence they were confident of positive results.
“We had a stream of poor results in the premier league recently and struggled to score goals but the technical team has been working hard with our striking forces so we are hoping for a better result this afternoon,” said Rantai.
LCS will be welcoming their fullback, Likano Teele who was on a red card suspension.
