FNB Lesotho will once again commemorate Africa Day in style with a vibrant festivity scheduled for 23 May 2026 at Maseru Club Grounds.

The bank launched the fourth edition of its annual celebration on Friday during a press conference held at Café What? in Maseru.

This year’s event, organised in partnership with Cleketseng Marketing and Event Administration, aims to showcase Africa’s unique rhythm—its energy, creativity, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Observed annually on 25 May across the continent, Africa Day celebrates unity, heritage, and progress among Africans. Since 2023, FNB Lesotho has used the occasion as a platform to honour African identity, culture and innovation.

The celebrations have previously been hosted in Maseru (2023), Leribe (2024), and Mohale’s Hoek (2025), attracting growing participation and recognition each year.

This year’s theme, “Africa in Rhythm”, captures the dynamic momentum of African enterprise and culture, highlighting how culture, commerce, and community can harmonise to drive inclusive growth and shared prosperity.

FNB’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Tsotetsi Seema, said the event has evolved into a significant national platform.

“Over the past four years, Africa Day has grown into a meaningful national platform that celebrates African pride, creativity, and unity across different districts. The 2026 theme recognises the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit that define our continent,” Mr Seema said.

FNB Chief Executive Officer, Delekazi Mokebe, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to the celebration’s core values.

“As a proudly African organisation, FNB Lesotho remains dedicated to empowering SMEs, communities, and initiatives that reflect our shared values. The theme, ‘Africa in Rhythm,’ speaks to progress rooted in identity and driven by partnership. Our continued investment in SME growth, cultural expression, and unity is reflected through this annual event,” Ms Mokebe said.

The event promises a diverse and engaging programme, including cultural performances, music, fashion, art, food, and creative exhibitions, all within a family-friendly atmosphere celebrating Africa’s past, present, and future.

Renowned Lesotho musician, Omali Themba, also praised the initiative, crediting the platform for helping launch his career.

“My talent was launched by the Africa Day concert, and I will always cherish that moment. It is not just a local stage; it is an international opportunity that has opened many doors for me. The connections I have built through this platform have been invaluable,” said the SBWL hitmaker.

FNB Lesotho has invited the public to attend the celebrations at Maseru Club Grounds, describing the event as a collective expression of pride, unity, and rhythm. Further updates will be shared through the bank’s official channels and social media platforms.
