MALUTI Mountain Brewery (MMB) has rewarded its best-performing and loyal alcohol-selling outlets across the country under its Ngatafatso Campaign.
Bars and taverns that purchase directly from MMB were honoured during an awards ceremony held at Victory Hall on Friday.
Through the campaign, outlets were given monthly sales targets, with those meeting and exceeding them standing a chance to win lucrative prizes at the end of the programme.
MMB Managing Director, ‘Mapeete Ntjana, said the Ngatafatso Campaign, was also designed to promote price compliance, stock availability and effective trade execution.
“These are critical pillars that ensure a business operates efficiently and meets regulatory standards,” Ms Ntjana said.
“The Ngatafatso programme focused on three main issues: price compliance, availability of stock and trade execution,” she added.
Ms Ntjana said the rewards were meant to recognise customer effort and encourage business growth.
“We want to see our customers’ businesses grow. We recognise their efforts and commitment.
“Let us make sure that the standards we celebrate today continue to live among us.”
The highlight of the prizes came in the platinum category, where a brand-new Nissan NP200 vehicle was won by Sentebale Public Bar of Qoaling in Maseru.
Sentebale Public Bar owner, Tlhalefo Khauoe, who has been in the business for nearly 30 years, said the vehicle would be a major asset.
“We stock and sell beer, but transport has been our biggest challenge. This car will be very helpful to the business.
“MMB delivers to our shops, but deliveries are scheduled. Now, whenever I run short of stock, it will no longer be a challenge to collect it myself,” Mr Khauoe told the Sunday Express after winning the vehicle.
Mr Khauoe said he had not expected to win the vehicle but remained hopeful of receiving a prize.
“I did not see myself winning the car, but I had been praying and hoping that today I would at least get something,” he said.
In other categories, Black Ball Public Bar and New York Tavern each won a double-door fridge under the bronze category.
Under the silver category, Makesi Tavern and Sakaleholo Public Bar each walked away with a fully stocked double-door fridge.
Gold category winners were Tumo Public Bar and Rhythm Hearts Public Bar, with each receiving four pallets of beer to support and grow their businesses.
