STANDARD Lesotho Bank (SLB), through its Swipe and Win campaign, has rewarded two lucky customers with brand new Toyota Starlets.
The winners, Malehakoe Tsoamotse and Matlotliso Nhlapho, emerged victorious from a pool of about 800 participants who swiped using their SLB’s blue, silver and gold cards during the campaign period.
The two were selected after competing head-to-head with three other finalists in the top five draw, where each finalist was invited to pick a lucky number corresponding to a prize.
The remaining three finalists received cash prizes, with the highest earning M7000, followed by M5000 and M3000.
Launched in August last year and concluded in December, the Swipe and Win campaign encouraged customers to increase their use of mobile banking transactions to improve their chances of winning.
Throughout the campaign, participants won various prizes, including grocery vouchers and cash, before it culminated in the awarding of two brand-new vehicles.
To qualify, customers were required to swipe their cards, purchase airtime or electricity, and make instant money transfers at least three times a month, with a minimum transaction value of M20.
Speaking at the prize handover, SLB Head of Personal Banking, Teboho Sello, said the bank values its customers and takes pride in giving back through meaningful rewards.
“As a bank, we consider Lesotho our home and are committed to contributing to its growth. When Basotho prosper, we also thrive as a financial institution,” Mr Sello said.
He added that the year is particularly significant for the bank as it marks 30 years of operation in Lesotho.
“We are starting this milestone year with a strong commitment to giving back to our community. Many exciting initiatives for our customers are planned throughout the year in celebration of our anniversary.”
Mr Sello also noted that last year the bank awarded a car to a customer for using mobile money transactions.
Speaking on behalf of the winners, Ms Tsoamotse expressed her gratitude to the bank, saying she was unaware she was participating in the competition until she was notified that she had made it into the final draw.
“I prefer using my card instead of cash, not knowing that my everyday transactions were actually increasing my chances of winning,” she said.
