INSURANCE company, LNIG Hollard, has marked a significant milestone with the official opening of its new branch in Butha-Buthe.
The Friday event also saw the announcement of a strategic partnership with the Butha-Buthe based football club, Lifofane FC, aimed at strengthening community engagement and boosting brand visibility.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, LNIG Hollard Chief Executive Officer, Mpho Vumbukani, expressed excitement about the expansion and its potential to improve service delivery in the northern region.
“We have actually been providing services here since January this year, but today marks the official opening of our office. This ensures that even those who were unaware now know that our services are closer and more accessible,” Mr Vumbukani said.
He said the partnership with Lifofane FC is not just about branding, but also about empowerment and community upliftment.
In line with LNIG’s #Qatso slogan, the company hopes the team will embrace a spirit of perseverance and excellence.
Referring to the branding printed on the company’s T-shirts, which reads “Ho bobebe” (loosely meaning “it’s easy”), Mr Vumbukani said this represents LNIG’s commitment to work hard even when life gets tough, and encourages clients to align with this mindset.
He concluded his speech on an optimistic note, stating that over the years, the company plans to broaden its reach and deepen its community impact even further.
LNIG’s Head of Brand and Marketing, Liepollo Tsekoa, emphasized the company’s community-first approach, describing the move as part of LNIG Hollard’s broader goal of building meaningful and lasting relationships in the areas where it operates.
“It is the culture and tradition of LNIG Hollard to work with local people. We are not just here to harvest; we believe in joining hands with the community, and that is why we have partnered with Lifofane FC,” Ms Tsekoa said.
As part of this partnership, LNIG will support the football team with sportswear and kits for use during matches. The initiative aims to empower young people, promote talent, and foster lasting community relationships.
The gesture has been welcomed by residents as a positive step toward strengthening community engagement through sports and local development.
Both Mr Vumbukani and Lifofane FC president, Letšolo Maliehe, signed the partnership contract.
Mr Maliehe said the team has been operating without any sponsorship for the past six years but has consistently performed well.
“We are extremely proud to finally receive support. With this kind of backing, we believe the team will go even further. We managed to excel without sponsorship, and now the sky is the limit,” Mr Maliehe said.
He also said the club’s ambition is to bring the league trophy to Butha-Buthe for the first time in the district’s history. He also urged local businesspeople to support LNIG, emphasising that continued backing will not only grow Lifofane FC but also promote sports development across the district.
Meanwhile, the launch featured energetic performances from local artists, including gospel singer Minister Spokes, and the nation’s favourite, Sannere, who serves as LNIG brand ambassador.
Community members in attendance enjoyed an interactive experience, engaging directly with the LNIG team through a question-and-answer session and a lucky wheel spin. Many walked away with branded giveaways, including LNIG backpacks, T-shirts, caps, and pens.
