LDF came from a goal behind to register their first win of the season when they beat Matlama 1-2 in a Premier League tie played at Pitso Ground yesterday.
Matlama midfielder, Phafa Tšosane found the opener at the half hour mark for his side with LDF midfielder, Mafoa-foa Lephoto, leveling matters two minutes before the half time break.
The army side’s winger, Morapeli Talasi, netted early in the second half to put his side in the lead.
Both sides came into the match looking for their first win of the season after they were both held to a one-all draw by Mphatlalatsane and Nyenye Rovers respectively.
In a post-match interview, LDF coach, Malefetsane Pheko, praised his charges for the commitment they showed in the match.
“I am really impressed by our performance today; coming from a goal down to become the winners is not child’s play but was the result of the confidence that was showed by my players,” Pheko said.
On his part, Matlama coach, Ntebele Mocholene, said they had a very good game but luck was not on their side. Mocholene said his team is still in the building phase.
“Look I have only just joined this team and I am still building. What I can tell you is that I am happy with how we played, we created many chances but luck was not on our side,” Mocholene said.
Elsewhere, Nyenye Rovers were beaten 1-2 by Sundawana in Butha-Buthe while Qoaling Highlanders came out 2-1 victors over Mphatlalatsane in a match played in Qoaling.
