Lioli lose star players to LMPS

Mikia Kalati

LIOLI president, Lebohang Thotanyana, has confirmed the departure of star striker Tšepo Seturumane and defender Basia Makepe who have taken up employment with the Lesotho Mounted Police Service.
The duo is scheduled to start training at the Police Training College soon.
“I can confirm that the two players will be leaving Lioli and will be training at the PTC. We will not stand in the way of their employment.
“What I can tell you is that they will remain Lioli players because they have contracts with us,” Thotanyana said.
“For example, Seturumane is contracted to this club until 2018, so it will only be after they have completed training that we will engage them in talks to hear the way forward.”
The Lioli president said they are open to offers for the services of the duo.
He, however, denied reports the club was demanding M50 000 for each player to release them for good so they can play for LMPS after completing training.
“As much as this is a big blow to us as a club, based on the importance of the two players to our squad, it is premature to demand such amounts to part ways with them for good,” he said.
“While it’s sad to see them go, we are happy they secured employment where they will work as police officers,” he said.
Tse Nala finished the first round at the top of the Vodacom premier league with 34 points and enjoy a seven point advantage over second-placed Bantu.
