ViB Mobile gives away new Toyota Hilux

KHABO Moshabela (33) from Leribe yesterday drove away in a brand-new Toyota Hilux GD-6 double cab after winning the grand prize in ViB Mobile Lesotho’s SMS trivia competition.

Aimed at reviving patriotism among Basotho, the competition started in August 2021 and is running until the end of January 2021.

Dubbed “I Love My Lesotho Trivia SMS Game”, the competition has grand prizes of two Toyota Hilux double cabs. The other prizes of cash and holidays.

Following his win in the first of the two grand prize draws, Mr Moshabela said the vehicle would be handy for his small-scale clothing enterprise.

Mr Moshabela was declared the winner ahead of two other finalists who were chose from weekly draws.

“I am very happy to have won the grand prize today,” Mr Moshabela said adding: “I am really out of words to describe how I feel”.

“The vehicle will be useful for me when I buy supplies for my clothing business from South Africa. I will therefore save on transportation costs.”

A dedicated player in the competition, Mr Moshabela said he spent over M1500 in playing the trivia. To demonstrate his dedication to the game, Mr Moshabela also spent part of his preliminary winnings on the game.

“Throughout the competition, I also won two cash prizes. The first was a M2000 prize which I spent on the game and later won M16 000.”

ViB Mobile Lesotho is a developer of consumer and enterprise mobile value-added services. It specialises in telecommunications solutions including bulk SMSes, Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD), email, voice, WhatsApp and mobile content services.

The company also has operations in Botswana and Namibia.

On his part, ViB Mobile group chief executive officer, Lerotholi Monaheng, said he was happy to be making inroads in the Lesotho market. He said the company was looking forward to empowering Basotho with its products.

“Basotho were generally responsive to the competition so far and we are happy. I however, believe there is much more to be done going forward. We want to empower Basotho through the products that we offer. The company has been operating in Lesotho for two years now.

“The completion will end on 31 January 2022 when we will be closing the SMS lines and giving away the second grand prize which is another Toyota Hilux GD-6 double cab.

“We are in partnership with Maseru Toyota, Semonkong Lodge, Afriski Mountain Resort, the Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC), Vodacom Lesotho and Econet Telcom Lesotho,” Mr Monaheng said.

To date, the company has given away cash prizes amounting to M130 000.
