MATLAMA goalkeeper coach, Shokhoe Matsoai has been suspended for the remainder of the season for ill-discipline Sunday Express has learnt.
This comes after the former senior national team goalkeeper coach missed string of Matlama league matches.
There have also been rumors that Shokhoe has missed Matlama fixtures to watch his home side, Swallows who were recently promoted to the top flight.
Matlama president, Ikarabele Sello admitted that the former Tse Putsoa goalkeeper has been suspended for the remainder of the season.
Sello said this was after Matsoai missed important games with the last stroke being the match against LDF that Matlama lost 2-1 a fortnight ago.
“We have been in different meetings with him concerning his disciplinary issues and the management and the technical team finally reached an agreement he be suspended for the remainder of the season,” Sello said.
“We have crucial matches that will determine whether or not we will make it into the top four of the log so we need the whole team to be focused so that we do not stabilize the team.
There have also been reports that the former Matlama goal-minder would sometimes go to the matches and training sessions intoxicated while.
But Sello refused to be dragged into commenting on that.
“What I can tell you is that when one is a leader, there are behaviors that are not permissible so that at least those that are being led can respect the leader. He is part of the technical team and he is always expected to be with the team whether on match days or during training sessions because he is also expected to give in his ideas and comments,” said Sello.
For his part, Shokhoe confirmed his suspension but refused to delve into the details saying he would only talk after he has met with his superiors.
“I am not in a position to comment right now because I have issues that I have raised and they are yet to be attended to. I can only be able to comment on this matter after our meeting with the team next week,” said Shokhoe.
