FNB Lesotho has launched two new branches in Maseru, underscoring its commitment to expanding financial services across the nation.

The Masianokeng and Maseru Mall branches were inaugurated in a joint opening ceremony, highlighting the bank’s dedication to bringing banking solutions closer to the people of Lesotho.

With these additions, FNB Lesotho is set to play an increasingly vital role in the financial empowerment of Basotho, marking a significant step forward for banking services in the region.

During her opening address at both branches, FNB chief executive officer, Delekazi Mokebe, articulated the bank’s vision for a more inclusive financial landscape.

“This expansion reflects our dedication to providing financial inclusion and accessibility to Basotho,” Ms Mokebe stated.

She emphasised the significance of the new branches as crucial components of the bank’s strategy to offer seamless, secure, and easily accessible banking services.

“Through these branches, our customers will enjoy a seamless banking experience, supported by enhanced digital capabilities and personalised services.”

The opening of the two branches not only showcases FNB’s ambition to extend its geographical reach but also represents a strategic move to meet the evolving needs of its customers. With technological advancements reshaping the banking industry, Ms Mokebe reassured the public that FNB remained committed to integrating cutting-edge technology into its services to enhance the overall banking experience.

For her part, FNB Chairperson, Mazvi Guni, echoed Ms Mokebe’s sentiments, saying the branches were “more than just physical locations”.

Ms Guni said the two branches symbolised the bank’s unwavering mission to improve client service, empower communities, and advance the financial landscape in Lesotho.

“With these two branches, we are taking a significant step toward fostering financial inclusion and providing more efficient and personalized banking services,” she said.

She said the new branches aligned with the bank’s goal of delivering world-class financial services to all Basotho.

“As FNB continues to expand its footprint, it remains committed to fostering financial inclusion and providing accessible, innovative banking solutions that meet the needs of its clients,” Ms Guni said.

These openings saw praises from various dignitaries, including the governor of the Central Bank of Lesotho, Maluke Letete, who commended FNB on this significant achievement.

Dr Letete said the dual opening of the branches reflected the bank’s dedication to enhancing public access to financial services.

“This is a clear reflection of the bank’s mandate to promote financial inclusion for every Mosotho,” Dr Letete said.

However, Dr Letete also acknowledged that while the new branches marked substantial progress for FNB, there was still work to be done. He pointed out that many districts in Lesotho continued to lack adequate access to banking services, highlighting the need for ongoing expansion efforts.
