EIGHT-time premier league champions, LDF, are out to change their ill-fortunes when they return to action against Kick4Life at Ratjomose Ground this afternoon.
The army side has endured a poor spell this season and comes into today’s match in eighth with eight points after eight matches.
On the other hand, Kick4Life are sixth with 12 points after eight matches.
Sohle-Sohle as LDF are affectionately known, have only one win, five draws and two losses.
While coach Motheo Mohapi is unhappy with his side’s performance, he recently told the Sunday Express that they used the two-week league break to work on all their challenges and are hoping for better results.
“Before the break our players lacked commitment while some key players were injured but we used the break to address those challenges to get things right and everyone now knows what is expected of them,” Mohapi said.
“We have been hard at work trying to mend our issues and we must return to our usual place.”
Mohapi said although they respect Kick4Life, they will; be out for maximum points.
“We respect them, just like we respect any other team in the league but we have to win this one. We know it is not going to be easy but we must play to our strengths and ensure that we win.
“We have dropped points because our players were complacent but following this break, I believe that our fortunes will change,” Mohapi said.
Kick4Life coach Katiso Mojakhomo also said the break enabled them to improve their club.
“I didn’t have adequate time with the team during the offseason, so there were areas that needed attention and we used the break to work on those problems. I think we managed to cover almost everything that we thought we lacked. We now must wait and see how we fare,” Mojakhomo said.
He said his side would be wary of the past results of the fixture where LDF has dominated.
“LDF has had its way in the past season and they also beat un in the pre-season but many things have changed since then, so it is not going to be an easy encounter. We are ready to push them all the way because we are the underdogs in tie.
“We are expecting an entertaining match and we are not prepared to settle for anything less than the three points,” Mojakhomo declared.
In other league matches today Swallows play Lifofane at Pitso ground in Butha-Buthe while LCS visit Sefotha-fotha at PTC Ground.
