MASERU — ’Mantja Mokhefe from Mokhotlong was yesterday announced the first winner of one of the five VW Citi Golf cars that are being given away by Vodacom Lesotho in the telecommunications giant’s Summa Feva promotion.
The draw, held at Sefika Shopping Centre in Maseru, saw other customers winning cellphones, groceries, plasma televisions, home theatres and cash.
It was a lucky day for Mokhefe, 33, as she also walked away with an LCD TV.
A jubilant Mokhefe said she entered the promotion with three text messages.
Tears of joy welled her eyes as she started her brand new VW Citi Golf.
“I am very happy,” she said.
“I am so thankful and would like to thank the Almighty God.”
Mokhefe said she believed she could win from the first day she started entering the competition through text messages.
She is single and has a daughter.
Mokhefe said the car was going to change her life.
Mokhefe works at Touching Tiny Lives Company, a company which helps orphans in Mokhotlong.
Pulane Mothae, who won a home theatre system, said she was thrilled.
“This is going to be my first home theatre system ever. I would like to thank Vodacom,” she said.
The Summa Feva promotion is in its third year running.
Vodacom Lesotho senior brand specialist (prepaid), Refiloe Mohlotsane, said the main purpose of the Summa Feva promotion was to give back to the community.
“Vodacom wants to keep its subscribers to the brand,” she said.
“We decided to give something very big this year.”
