MASERU — The Lesotho Volleyball Association (LVA) will hold its annual general conference next Sunday at the Lesotho Agricultural College (LCA).
LVA public relations officer Clifford Molefe told the Sunday Express on Friday that the purpose of the conference is to table activities and financial reports.
“We are holding the annual general meeting (AGM) on the 26th of this month at LCA in Maseru,” Molefe said.
Reports by the chairman and on the association’s finances would be presented to member teams.
Molefe said the chairman’s report is expected to include all the achievements, challenges and weaknesses of the association since their last annual meeting in February last year.
“We will also table before our member teams our last year’s achievements, weaknesses and challenges we’ve faced since our last AGM,” he said.
He said they were expecting two delegates from all the LVA 30 registered teams to attend the one-day meeting.
Molefe said the association managed to hold a Level two coaching course last year. The highly-respected qualification allows the holder to coach in any country around the world, he said.
The association also held a tournament for 100 primary school pupils.
“The purpose of the Cool Volleyball event was to instil the love of volleyball within the kids at an earlier stage,” Molefe said.
He added that the LVA’s major achievement was the election of the association’s boss, William Nhlapho, as Zone VI president last December.
Zone VI is a federation of volleyball associations from 10 countries in southern Africa.
