Vodacom Lesotho on Friday held a function for its female employees as part of celebrations marking International Women’s Day.
International Women’s Day, also called International Working Women’s Day, is marked on March 8 every year globally to show respect, appreciation and love towards the womenfolk.
The Vodacom Lesotho managing director Ian Ferrao said the motive behind the function was to inspire the company’s female employees while also showing that they are appreciated.
“It’s about celebrating women’s achievements and successes, and inspiring them that they too, can reach their goals and achieve great success,” said Ferrao.
Ferrao also said it was time Basotho women took charge and joined the world of technology.
“I have already met great and amazing women in Lesotho, who are determined to break barriers and reach greater success,” he added.
The guest-speaker, who is also a life-coach, Limpho Tšenoli defined a woman as an intelligent, independent, adventurous and loyal being.
Urging women to stop settling for less, Tšenoli said: “As women, we should stop settling for less, and start standing up for what we believe in.
“Women should not be defined by their style, culture or personality but their potential.”
