THREE local companies have teamed up to launch the Glamour Royale concept aimed at providing upmarket fashion, red carpet, elegance, style and high lifestyle social events.

The three companies, namely, KMT KodaChrome & Services, Nature’s Vibrant Solutions (NVS) and Stone Age Wear say their glamour events which will be launched on 25 March at the Cuban Linx, will make a unique contribution to the country’s lifestyle scene.

KMT KodaChrome & Services is an events company that embraces photography and modelling. NVS produce health-conscious natural products, including bottled water while Stone Age Wear is a well-known name on the local apparel scene.

“Glamour Royale is about changing the mind-set, it’s a way of making people believe that together we can do it,” said NVS founder, Liako Hlohlomi, adding the concept will kick-off with red carpet affairs where local fashion designers will showcase their wares to the public.

“We aim to offer a platform to local fashion designers without restrictions since the more diversity, the more appeal the event will have. Another reason would be to reduce the clothing imports if the designs can be done locally,” Hlohlomi said.

She said their events were open to all designers but they would choose the best five on the basis of the quality, variety and availability of material to be exhibited.

She said they would spread the events to other parts of the country.

In addition, the organisers intend the event to provide an opportunity for networking among like-minded people in business and leisure.

To this end, the organisers said local designers and individuals from supporting industries were encouraged to sign-up for free stalls to exhibit on the side-lines of the event.

“We want to have people from different spheres of influence in one place with their high fashion designs and showcase them to the audience.

“This is not purely a fashion event but a red carpet activity where people mingle,” said Khosana Thamae, the KMT KodaChrome & Services photographer.

Apart from bringing people from various backgrounds together, organisers say the event is also a token of appreciation to companies and individuals that contribute to bringing the high life to Lesotho.
