Teboho Noosi flies Lesotho Flag in Switzerland

FNB Lesotho is the proud sponsor for Teboho Noosi (a trail runner) from Roma who will be participating in the Sierre-Zinal Mountain Marathon in Switzerland on 11 August 2019.

The Sierre-Zinal is one of the oldest, most prestigious and most competitive mountain races in Europe. It always brings a very competitive field of runners worldwide. It is part of the Golden Trail World Series and the World Mountain Running World Cup.

The race will be broadcasted live on Supersport and SABC Sport. A live feed link of the 2-part Documentary “Breaking the Record” will be available for viewing on the FNB Lesotho Page on Facebook. You can also catch the race live on the Golden Trail Series Facebook page: https://web.facebook.com/goldentrailseries/

The race starts at 10am on the 11th of August. Noosi is aiming to break a world record that has not been broken in the last 16 years. Even Kilian Jornet, who has won the race six times has never gotten within seconds of this record.

‘We will be behind him (Noosi) all the way,’ FNB Lesotho Chief Executive Officer, Brad Roper said.

More information about the about the Sierre-Zinal Mountain Marathon can be accessed at https://www.sierre-zinal.com/en/homepage.html.

Teboho knows this is no soft record but he truly believes he can break it. Coming from the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho he naturally enjoys steep climbs and technical terrain.

Lesotho is the perfect training ground for trail racing. Noosi’s dream is to stand on top of the Alps as the new record holder. Noosi won two unique races last year that proves he has what it takes to break the record.

2018 was Teboho’s best year after winning the Cathedral Peak Challenge and the Mokhotlong Summer High Altitude Marathon- a very fierce marathon above 2000m with more than 1000m in accents.

FNB said believes in the talent and drive of Basotho. Teboho deserves a shot at the record.
