MASERU — The Lesotho Netball Association (LNA) development officer, Ramafahla Thamae, says the just-ended international coaching seminar in Singapore will help Lesotho identify and nurture talent.
Thamae attended the three-day Federation of Netball Association (IFNA) coaching seminar from July 5 to 7 together with LNA president Moipone Mashale.
“It will help Lesotho’s netball coaching structures to be able to identify talent, mould it and prepare the athletes to be able to compete both locally and internationally,” Thamae said from Singapore on Wednesday.
He said the seminar was also helping them discover new ways of achieving their set goals.
“Furthermore, it is providing us with useful information on achieving our national vision and goals of sports development — with netball in mind.”
Thamae said he was going to organise refresher coaching courses as soon as he returned home.
“I will be hosting a refresher course for all our coaches when I return from the seminar and hopefully we will have a colleague from South Africa, Professor Chipeya, to help out,” he added.
“She is also here in Singapore as part of Netball South Africa Coaches panel.”
The duo’s trip to Singapore was fully funded by the Singapore Sports Council in partnership with Lesotho Netball Association through International Netball Federation.
