MOJABENG Senekal says the Charity Award she clinched at the Face of Beauty International 2015 in Taiwan also entails travelling around the world as the pageant’s social responsibility ambassador.
Senekal won the accolade during the finale of the prestigious pageant which was held from 4 – 18 October, 2015 at the Grand Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan. The 22-year old competed against 59 other contestants in the fourth edition of the pageant which was established in 2012 with the aim of developing young female leaders from around the world.
The Face of Beauty International 2015 title was won by the contestant from Mexico, with the first and fourth runners-up from Hungary, Ukraine, Greece and Venezuela respectively.
According to Senekal, she won the Charity Award for exhibiting outstanding qualities in taking care of her surroundings, portraying her inner beauty, maintaining confidence at all times, being approachable and having a giving and fearless spirit.
The Butha Buthe-born beauty said she will travel around the world leading various charitable initiatives on behalf of the pageant during the course of her reign which ends next October.
“I am humbled by the opportunity this award has afforded me as I will be able to interact with different people and learn different cultures. I will also market Lesotho during my travels as I engage in various charitable activities during the course of the year,” Senekal told Xpress People this past week.
“Since I will be interacting with people from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds, I will undergo training on cross cultural communication so that I am equipped for the task.”
In addition to her recent accolade, Senekal is the current Face of Lesotho, a title she clinched in May this year. She has also accumulated a slew of crowns which include the Miss Personality 2014, Miss Royalty 2014 and Miss NUL 2015. She was also a runner-up in the Face of KO 2014 pageant last December.
Asked what she attributes her success in pageantry to, Senekal said she constantly works to improve herself to compensate for her areas of weakness.
“To attain success, you have to believe in yourself more than anything else and set your heart to achieving your objectives. I do not let what I consider as my weaknesses, such as my diminutive stature, to overshadow my strengths,” she said.
“I always tell myself that nothing is impossible as long as I give it my all. I love what I do so I dedicate all my efforts and resources to pageantry. I am a very humble person, bubbly and opinionated. I also do not let anyone look down on my dreams and beliefs.”
