BANTU will pocket at least M150 000 from DStv Premiership side Golden Arrows who signed the Mafeteng outfit’s left back, Bokang Sello, this weekend the Sunday Express can reveal.

This follows his failure to sign for Chippa United, with who has been trialing after the side exceeded its foreign players quota.

Sello was on the Port Elizabeth side’ radar along with former teammates Tsietsi Khooa and Moloisane Ramasimong who have both signed for Chippa.

After the deal fell through, the player took to KwaZulu Natal where he has been trialing until Friday when he signed for the Durban side.

Bantu president Leuta John Leuta yesterday confirmed that talks have been completed between his side and Golden Arrows and what is left is for Sello to agree personal terms with the club.

“The deal is almost done as Arrows gave us the contract on Friday to go through it and return it by Monday,” Leeuta said.

“We are happy with what they have offered and we will be releasing the player. What is left is for Arrows to agree terms with the player so that he can be registered.”

Leuta said the deal was more about strong relations with the Durban side than money.

“This deal is not actually all about money but we are forging relationship which will help us in the future. The deal ranges between M150 000 and M200 000.”

He said Sello is already training with the Mandla Ncikazi coached side.

Asked whether or not Sello will be able to register when the registration and transfer period has already been closed, Leuta said they will make arrangements with Golden Arrows should they sign him, to release him as a free agent.

“In South Africa, free agent can be registered at any time and we will have our arrangements with Golden Arrows, if the deal materialises, to ensure that he is registered.”

Sello joined Bantu two season ago from Lioli and he has been an important member in the A Matšo Matebele set up forming part of their solid defensive line.

“He is not the type of player we would have want to lose as a team but at the same time, we don’t want to stand in his way and deny him a better future. So, we are open to any team that is interested in his services. Hence, we have moved on from the Chippa deal and are negotiating with Golden Arrows,” Leuta said.
