TSHIVENDA afro-pop singer, Malondolo from the Limpopo province of South Africa is set to make her debut appearance in Lesotho at 4Fordy club in Maseru on Wednesday.

Malondolo will perform live with her band during the 4Fordy Live Wednesday sessions. She will share the stage with Phille who plays at the club on a regular basis.

4Fordy’s Events Manager Dj Spane recently told Xpress People that Malondolo’s visit was aimed giving international exposure to locals who play at 4Fordy on Wednesdays.

“4Fordy Live’s objective is to provide a platform to aspiring musicians who perform with a live band,” Dj Spane said.

“We can proudly say that we have managed to develop several instrumentalists including pianists and drummers. We also have karaoke on Tuesdays (Dummie Tuesdays) which have enabled us to discover fresh talent who we moved to the Wednesday sessions to enable them to practice with the live band.

“We asked Malondolo to utilise our lead guitarist and keyboard player for her tour. They are already practicing her songs and they will do the rehearsal on Wednesday morning as Malondolo and her band only arrive on Tuesday. She is very big in South Africa and having her at 4Fordy Live is an honour.”

DJ Spane also said that Malondolo’s visit is made possible by Ekasi Enterprise- a South African Agency they were collaborating with to host a festival in Lesotho in the near future.

“We are planning a big show to spotlight local musicians.

“As part of the preparations for that fiesta, Ekasi agreed to incur Malondolo’s booking fee and we will only cater for her and the band’s transport and accommodation expenses,” he said.
