MASERU — Redskins Volleyball Club say they are ready to defend their regional title at the Inter-club Zone IV championship in Namibia next month.
The tournament will be held from November 25 to December 2.
The club said they were already gearing up to defend their title although they were facing some financial woes.
Redskins coach, Tšepo Raletoane, was in a buoyant mood on Friday telling the Sunday Express that they were ready to defend their crown.
“Yes we are going to defend our title and have already started preparations to ensure that come next month, we are ready to raise Lesotho’s flag high again,” Raletoane said.
Raletoane said they were using the Four Nations Tournament currently taking place in Pretoria to prepare for next month’s gala.
“The team has already started preparations for the championship and we are going to use a couple of international games as part of our preparations,” he said.
“As we speak we are at the Four Nations Tournament in Pretoria and we hoping to use this as an international practice match before going to Namibia.”
The Four Nations Tournament started on Friday and ends today.
Raletoane said they were still struggling to secure funding for their trip to Namibia.
“The team is ready but currently we are dealing with financial issues to ensure that we do not get disappointed at the last minute,” he said.
He added that the team’s preparations were being affected by work and school commitments.
Last year the Inter-club Zone IV championships were held in Gaborone, Botswana.
