The red-carpet premiere was a night of bliss, prompting the Lilaphalapha Productions managing director, Bofihla Neko, to remark: “If Hollywood can do it, why can’t we?”

Guests who attended the launch were all dressed to kill, with the event certainly living up to its billing as the country’s first-ever red-carpet show.

Although guests were only shown the trailer and not the full movie, they were still totally blown away by the talent exhibited in the film.

Speaking on behalf of the sponsors, Refiloe Mohlotsane, Sun International Lesotho head of marketing, said the hotel group was pleased to be part of the country’s best comedy movie.

“I don’t know if anyone would have the audacity to argue with me, but these guys have totally blown our socks off.
“I met them while I was still working at Vodacom and through the sessions that we had when preparing advertisements, I realised how talented and hilarious they were.

“We, as Basotho, need to support them and buy this movie because eradicating piracy begins with you,” Mohlotsane said.
Mohlotsane also said as a way of motivating the cast, they would spend that night at Lesotho Sun Hotel, courtesy of Sun International.

In his remarks, Neko expressed gratitude for the Sun International gesture.
“We are deeply touched by the support you have shown us. The route was never easy as we met quite a number of problems while shooting the movie such as being held at gunpoint at one point.

“We are hoping to make this an annual event and do better every year, with your support, thank you,” he said.
Meanwhile, the country’s entertainment legends were presented with awards of appreciation at Friday night’s event.

Nozisolo Mpopo (theatre), Bhudaza (jazz), Silas Monyatsi (film and drama), Motlatsi Masela (football), Teboho Rantsoabe ( poetry), (Mantai Phaila- Town Clerk) were all honoured on the night.

Renowned comedian Cura kept the crowd in stitches as the host of the night, while different artistes, such as Sentšo, Febric, Major 7 and Clap and Tap, also enthralled guests with music.
