AFTER parting ways with Lioli FC recently, defender Tšeliso Ramathe is considering re-joining his boyhood team, Qoaling Highlanders in the PostBank A Division.
Ramathe is leaving Tse Nala after spending two and half years in Teya-Teyaneng. He joined Lioli in 2018 from Matlama.
Now that the former premier league champions are no longer interested in his services, if he doesn’t get any premier league offers; he will not hesitate rejoining Qoaling Highlanders in the 2020/21 season.
“Now that my spell with Lioli has ended, I am thinking of re-joining Qoaling Highlanders if there are no other offers,” Ramathe told the Sunday Express.
“I haven’t told the club yet about this plan.”
Ramathe started his football career at Qoaling Highlanders helping the team earn promotion into the A Division. He was also part of the squad that earned Highlanders its last premier league promotion in 2012 as captain.
This will not be his first time to leave the premier league heading to Qoaling Highlander. In the 2010/11 season, he left the team and joined Matlama spending one season before returning to the side.
He stayed there for two seasons before returning to Matlama again in the 2013/14 season.
Ramathe said in the event that he returns to Qoaling Highlanders, he would be happy to help the side return to the premier league. The side was relegated from the elite league in the 2014/15 season.
“If I join them, I would like to help them bounce back into the premier league because it is every team’s dream to play in the premier league.”
Although he is yet to decide when to retire, Ramathe said his wish is to end his career at Qoaling Highlanders.
The club finished the 2019/20 season at the bottom of the table.
