IF YOU have been dying to ask your favourite artiste that burning question, then look no further that Red Couch, a new online based show launched recently.
The show which will be hosted by radio personality Themba Nyathi ran its introductory episode on Thursday. Nyathi told the Xpress People that the show is also aimed at presenting different artistes with a space to vent their issues.
He said most artistes often feel left out because the mainstream media presents itself as too formal.
“It’s a platform that we are giving to different artistes to vent out their challenges, their art because radio can only do so much,” Nyathi said.
“We are also trying to bring an interactive platform which is a close-up experience with the artistes where we ask those daring questions instead of the usual questions that tend to make radio programmes monotonous.”
He said the programme will be flighted every Thursday on Facebook to ensure that the country’s massive talent is exposed.
“Lesotho has massive talent and the artistes are always saying we are here but we are not getting exposed for certain reasons.
“We called it the Red Couch because it’s a no holds barred show where we ask everything. It is the hot seat where the questions that the media often refrain from will be asked,” Nyathi said.
He said the programme would be shot in different locations so that they can also use it to promote tourism.
Nyathi for now they are still self-sponsoring the programme along with his partners but they hope to get sponsorship soon.
“The project was conceptualized by Ndaba Mache but we also work with Khojane and a few other support staff who assist with the recording,” Nyathi said.
