Ntoya to sign for Matlama
CONGOLESE attacking midfielder, Fidel Ntoya, who parted ways with Kick4Life at the end of last season has hinted he could join Matlama for the coming Econet Premier League campaign.
The player told the Sunday Express that if the move materialises, it could be his dream come true.
Ntoya arrived in the country just before the 2014/15 season heading for LCS. He
He spent a full season with the club before he moved to Bantu for a six months spell. He was to rejoin Kick4Life where he spent two and half years but the side decided not to renew his contract at the end of last season.
The player said he has many offers on his table but he would most likely settle for Matlama.
“I had a good time at Kick4Life where I did my best to improve the side and it was time to move on,” Ntoya said.
“As a player I knew that at some point I had to move and I accepted it. I have many offers on my table at the moment but I want to play for Matlama next season and hopefully I will see that dream coming true.”
There have also been unconfirmed rumours that the left-footed player has demanded M10 000 signing on fee to join Matlama but he dismissed the rumours as baseless.
“People will always talk and I do not entertain those rumors. What I can tell you is that we have met with Matlama and I am now waiting for the club to get back to me and see how we can proceed. The last time we spoke everything looked positive.”
Maestro, as the midfielder is popularly known, said joining a new team would also give him new challenges and said he hopes to help the side win league titles.
“It is every player’s dream to play for a team that wins trophies and I am not an exception. I am a hard worker I know and I hope the team that I join will go on to win trophies.
“I also want to join Matlama because I know the competition will be stiff and that will push me to work even harder,” Ntoya said.
