LINARE last Sunday elected a new committee which saw them booting out Bereng Makotoko as the president and in his palace came in Refiloe Martin.
Tse Tala has been going through a rough patch in the previous seasons as they have been rocked by the infighting that saw them fighting for survival to keep their status in the elite league.
In the just ended season, Linare finished 11th after the duo of Freeze Ntene and Moses Ramafole were appointed as the head and assistant coaches respectively in January this year.
The situation remained tough as the side continued to struggle and at one point appeared destined for relegation.
The last time Linare competing for the league title was in the 2014/15 season, where they finished third under Ntene as the coach.
Ntene told the Sunday Express on Friday that they are now busy trying to get players who will come and add value into the team.
“We have a new committee and we have been mandated to revamp this team and ensure that we put it back where it is used to be,” Ntene said.
“We need to improve this team. It has to be one of the league contenders and I think it is also time for us to make our sponsors, LNIG, happy. We can’t keep playing for survival. The target for the next season is to finish among top four teams.”
He said they have been in talks with players from different teams but said he could not reveal the names until they have concrete agreements.
“There is no time to rest because we need to get players. We have been talking to our targets and what I can tell you is that many will be left surprised when we announce our new signings.”
Among the players rumored to have been targeted by Linare is Galaxy midfielder Tlou Billet. Ntene could however, neither deny nor confirm the rumors that they are targeting the recently relegated side’s player.
“We are reinforcing the team but at the moment, I will not reveal the names. We want quality this time around. We might be losing some players as well, so we have to be prepared,” Ntene said.
