MASERU — Local beauty Constance Mofolo has been invited to compete at the Face of the World beauty pageant in London in November.
Mofolo, 18, is the reigning Miss Lesotho Companies Teen.
“I feel so honoured to have the privilege of representing my country at the international level,” she told XpressPeople on Wednesday.
“Although this is quite a challenge as I will be contesting against people from all over the world, I believe I have what it takes to bring the crown home,” Mofolo said.
Mofolo recently competed in the Queen of the World beauty pageant which was held in Pretoria in May where she was crowned second princess.
She says that experience will set her in good stead to grab the crown.
“I believe in myself and I am sure that with the experience that I have and having competed internationally before, I will definitely win the contest,” she said.
She said being a beauty queen has changed her life completely.
“I do not have a private life anymore because my life has been put under the spotlight and many girls look up to me,” she said.
“I do a lot of community work by helping the needy and motivating other ladies who wish to be where I am today.”
She said she hopes to inspire other young women to realise their dreams in the modelling industry.
Participants in the pageant are expected to raise funds in their respective countries to help organisations dealing with children’s issues.
“I am hoping that we will receive the funds raised as we have a lot of destitute children in our country who need help,” she said.
Mofolo will be travelling with Karabo Keketsi, Limpho Seboholi and Mathaleha Phatela who will also be competing in the pageant’s other categories.
