MASERU — Local hip-hop artist Tefo Mofolo says he will release his first album, Hero, in time for Christmas.
Mofolo, popularly known as Devfoe, said his addiction to hip-hop and R&B started when he was five.
“I have always been listening to hip-hop and R&B, that is why I mixed them on my forthcoming album,” he said.
“I want my music to last and be enjoyed by future generations.
“It must have an everlasting impact to future generation.”
Mofolo said he wanted to share his life experiences with other people through music.
“In short, I want to share with other people my everyday life,” he said.
Mofolo said Hero was the first of many albums to follow.
“I will keep on releasing albums,” he said.
“I will never quit the music industry.”
Most local artists who try hip-hop or R&B have found the going tough.
But Mofolo is optimistic.
“I am not trying, I am doing it,” he said.
He said two songs on the new 10-track album, Saved and Sunshine, were already being played by local radio stations.
