LIOLI and Likuena midfielder Luciano Matsoso has been invited for trials by Uzbek side PFC Lokomotiv Tashkent.
According to the invitation seen by the Lesotho Times, Matsoso is expected to spend two weeks trialing with the team which competes in the Uzbekistan Super League.
“PFC Lokomotiv Tashkent is inviting the player with details below, for our football tryout programme which will be held on our training ground starting on the 6 July 2020,” the letter reads.
“The trials will last for two weeks whereby PFC Lokomotiv management will be responsible for the invitee’s flight ticket, accommodation and feeding during trial.”
Despite the letter, Matsoso professed ignorance of the invitation and he was still a Lioli player.
“There is no such thing, for now; I am still a Lioli player and willing to honor the side’s contract. I am not going anywhere…
“There are no international flights at the moment, so even if I were to be invited, how would I get there,” Matsoso said.
Lioli president technical Moses Maliehe confirmed receiving a notice from the player regarding the invitation.
“He told us that he has been invited to some trials and we won’t stand in his way.
“If the offer is good and he is willing to go, there is nothing we can do. His contract is also lapsing this month hence he would be a free agent next month. The offer could be better than what he is getting here so we will not stand in hi way,” Maliehe said.
The former MKS Oskar Preyzucha midfielder joined Lioli from Black Leopards in January this year on a six months contract.
