MASERU — A 22-year-old man from Thabong was last Thursday stabbed to death in Mphatlalatsane Public Bar in Ha Tsautse.
According to a police report, Katleho Letsapo was killed at 2300 hours after having an argument with Tšepo Sello, 18, at Mphatlalatsane Public Bar.
Police spokesperson Pheello Mphana confirmed the incident.
“Katleho was stabbed to death after having an argument with Tšepo. It was around 2300 hours when the deceased was killed,” Mphana said.
He said the deceased was killed after an argument with the suspect.
“The suspect has been arrested. He appeared in court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody,” he said.
Meanwhile, in another incident in Quthing, a 27-year-old man from Ha Mosuoe was also stabbed to death.
“Mokete Motaung was stabbed by two men who accused him of killing their brother earlier this year,” said Mphana.
The two suspects, aged 18 and 27, were arrested for allegedly killing the deceased.
“The deceased was still on bail after he was arrested for killing the suspects’ brother in April,” he said.
Mphana said there were a number of cases where people had been killed at public bars.
“Most of the cases are about the clashes they had a long time ago.
“Christmas time is the time when most of these people visit their home areas.
“It is then that they start arguing about the unresolved issues they had been fighting about,” he said.
