MASERU — A 21-year old man from Maseru was on Thursday last week allegedly stabbed to death by three men from Naleli during a fight over a girlfriend.
According to a police report the man was attacked by the three after an argument over a girlfriend.
Police spokesperson Masupha Masupha said the deceased had just left a public bar in town with his girlfriend when the suspects attacked him.
He said when police arrived at the scene the victim was already dead.
He had open wounds all over the body, Masupha said.
The suspects were arrested the following day following a report by the deceased’s girlfriend.
Masupha said police confiscated two knives that were covered in blood.
He said the suspects were in police custody and would appear in court soon.
In a separate incident, two men from Ha Mphunyetsane were beaten to death by angry villagers from Thaka-Mpholo two weeks ago.
Police said the deceased who were aged between 55 and 60 were grazing their livestock on reserved pastures in Thaka-Mpholo village when the mob attacked them.
One of the men died at the scene while the other was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Mapoteng hospital.
Police are investigating the case.
