Machabeng celebrates exceptional IB Diploma achievements

—As Queen commends class of 2025 for brilliance

MACHABENG College International School held a graduation ceremony on Friday to honour the outstanding accomplishments of its Class of 2025 in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.

According to the school, the 2025 cohort demonstrated remarkable dedication and resilience, embodying the school’s commitment to academic excellence and global citizenship.

Founded on principles of critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and lifelong learning, Machabeng College has established itself as a leading educational institution in Lesotho.

Headmaster Rupa San, said the graduates’ success reflected years of rigorous preparation and perseverance, as well as the cultivation of values that extend beyond academics.

The headmaster expressed pride in the students’ achievements, celebrating not just their academic success, but also their growth and character as they prepare to navigate a complex, interconnected world with confidence, compassion, and purpose.

The ceremony also honoured the college’s rich legacy of shaping future leaders, including notable alumna, Queen ‘Mamohato Bereng Seeiso, who serves as a proud patron of the institution.

Ms San emphasized the importance of embracing diversity and multiculturalism, stating that the college’s “international spirit is reflected in every corridor, where different languages, cultures, and perspectives thrive and unite us.”

For her part, Her Majesty highlighted the transformative power of the IB programme, which fosters inquiry, empathy, and service.

She commended the students for their resilience, noting that the IB journey is challenging but rewarding, opening doors to global opportunities while grounding students in their cultural roots.

“Our college’s international spirit is reflected in every corridor, where different languages, cultures, and perspectives thrive and unite us,” the visibly elated Queen  said.

Graduates, including IB Top Achiever Leqele T?osane, shared heartfelt reflections on their journey, acknowledging the support of peers, teachers, and family.

Mr T?osane, who scooped half of the awards, encouraged current students to stay determined, reminding them that “the light at the end of the tunnel is real.”

As the Class of 2025 steps into future endeavours, the college and its community are confident that these graduates will serve as ambassadors of change, embodying the values of integrity, innovation, and patriotism.
