Sports Reporter MASERU — The Lesotho Volleyball Association (LVA) yesterday held a fun day at the Lesotho Correctional Services grounds to promote the sport among primary school children.
Seven schools attended the event, dubbed Cool Volleyball Day.
The schools were Machekoaneng, Lesia, Mohale’s Hoek, Lithabaneng, Ntjabane, Mazenod and TY English Medium.
Speaking to the Sunday Express after the event, LVA public relations officer, Clifford Molefe, said Cool Volleyball Day was good for the development of the game.
“The kids were just playing, getting to know the game and appreciating it,” he said.
Molefe said he was happy with the attendance and participation at the event.
“The attendance was great.
“It’s the first time we have had this event and we can say it has been a huge success.
“We hope to have the event again this year in other districts.” The children were given a T-shirt each while each of the attending schools was given a ball.
Meanwhile, the LVA will hold an annual general meeting on February 26.
Molefe said this season’s league will kick off early next month.
