THE Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC) through its Lepereng Olympafrica Center (LOC) is set to host a five-day biennial Olympafrica directors network meeting starting from tomorrow until Friday at a Maseru guest house.
According to LOC project officer Khotso Mahloko, the meeting will be attended by center directors from Comoros, Malawi, Mozambique, Seychelles and Zimbabwe. It will be supervised by Ndiaté SALL- DIOP from the International Olympafrica Foundation (IOF) Senegal.
He said participating countries will use the meeting to reflect their challenges in their respective countries.
“The Olympafrica directors network meeting is organised with the assistance of the IOF and it intends to provide the centre directors of the participating countries a platform to reflect on their exploits, address challenges they have encountered in their respective countries and map their resolutions as well as discuss new projects on offer for the upcoming two years,” Mahloko said.
“The meeting is also open for six local participants comprising of LOC, Olympafrica Youth Ambassador Program (OYAP) Teachers and community volunteers with interest in Wrestling.
“The participants will also benefit from the wrestling technical training under the auspices of the United World Wrestling which has partnered with the IOF to equip the Olympafrica centre directors with skills that will enable them to introduce it in their countries for the sustainable sport development programmes. The training will be supervised by Juan Luis MAREN DELIS, a Cuban expert,” Mahloko said.
