STRUGGLING Liphakoe will be hoping for a change of fortunes away to rookies Sky Battalion in a Vodacom Premier League match at Mohale’s Hoek DIFA Ground this afternoon.
The Quthing outfit head into the match on the back of six consecutive defeats and they occupy 11th position on the 14-team league table with 11 points from three wins and two draws in 11 matches.
Sky, on the other hand, are on fifth position after five wins, four draws and one loss in 10 matches.
The Thabile Secker-coached side played to a goalless stalemate with Bantu last weekend in Mafeteng.
Liphakoe coach Teele Ntšonyana on Friday told the Sunday Express that his charges had been unlucky not to get maximum points as they had been playing well so far.
“In terms of performance I am satisfied but the problem is results are not coming our way and that is one thing that needs to be worked on. If we can just get lucky in this game I tell you things will change completely because that is what we have been lacking,” Ntšonyana said.
The maroon and yellow outfit started the season on a high registering three straight wins but things took a different turn.
“We started this season better than the last but we know what distracted the team and since it is an internal issue I will not discuss it,” he said.
He however promised his side will give everything to beat the highly motivated Sky Battalion team.
“We will play a very good side that is also motivated.
“Their position on the table shows they cannot be underestimated but at the same time we are also a big team in need of maximum points so we will throw everything at them because we need to get out of this situation,” Ntšonyana said.
For his part, Secker said they would not underestimate Liphakoe but give everything to get back to winning ways after going two matches without tasting victory.
“They will come at us like wounded dogs and that makes them dangerous so we will not underestimate them.
“Our preparations went well and my boys are more than ready. We also went two matches without winning so we need to bounce back. We all want to win so this is not going to be an easy match,” said the former Lioli assistant coach.
In other league matches today, Bantu host LCS at Setsoto Stadium and LMPS are away to Butha-Buthe Warriors at Maputsoe DIFA Ground.
